Meet our Principal Engineer: Erwin OToole, P.E.
Erwin came to the SF Bay Area in 2007 with an eagerness to understand this city of structures placed on precarious hills, shifting sands, soft muds, and expansive clays. He obtained his Professional Engineer license in 2012. Erwin’s portfolio represents an interest in complex and challenging projects spanning a broad range of market sectors. He has particular interests in demolition and support of existing buildings, as well as excavation shoring, construction means and methods value engineering, dewatering and construction phase project support. He has additional experience in new design and construction 4D analysis.
Erwin has also participated in many design peer reviews of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structural systems, with respect to excavation shoring systems, for the City and County of San Francisco. He is very familiar with the Slope heightened reviews conducted in Structural Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings for properties that exceed an average slope of 4 horizontal to 1 vertical grade.
